im headin down all next week. im lookin forward to it but on my past few trips the surf has been fishless save a few stingrays and bonnetheads. i blame all this on the beach restoration they did and so did everyone else i talked to. any of yall in that area know if the fishing is returning to normal??

this time of year drive west on US 98 a little bit,,,Walton county line to Grayton will have better fish stucture, thus fishing,,,, sometimes the fishing out at St Andrews State Park is not too bad if you have a season pass so you can fish early and late, low lite conditions.,,,,

have you been experiencing the same issue with the sand pumping killing the fishing?

Yes, I have found that renourished beaches not to be very productive surf fishing for a couple years at the least.......but sure makes pretty flat beaches for the turons...

gonna be heading to PCB in two weeks myself, would sure like to hear a report when you get back so I will know what to expect. I normally hit the pier early in the a.m. but i understand that the storm damage has shortened it considerably. Thanks for any info, and good luck.

I was down in PCB for the Memorial day weekend. My mother-in-law has a house down near Laguna Beach. I went out every morning about 6 and it was slow. There was a HUGE school of lady fish that came by the Saturday morning. I didn't have any topwater lures but got a couple on Got`Cha plugs. Sunday morning I was sure to bring a top water and got 4-5 in the cooler. They were used Monday (with cigar minows) at the jetties to catch grouper. None were big enough to keep though. Also cought a stinkin catfish and a lady fish on a Pompano rig with squid. A guy fishing down from me a little ways caught a sting ray on squid.

My wife went shopping Sunday afternoon so I went to check out the pier. Fishing was slow and spotty. But there was about about a 7 foot baracooda just hanging out around the pier. He wasn't hungry though:(
