Fishing out of Wollaston

Coming up from Va and am going out on a friend's boat (he is a fishing newbie)...I expect to troll the area...what is specifically working?...do I need to plan on going deep?...or is medium depth about right?...is bait a better option?...any info is appreciated...:beer:
