What gear should I take and what can I expect to catch?......Thanks in advance

YOu can catch that whole gambit from sharks to spots,this time of year,,,, what are you interested in catching or what type of fishing are you interested in?

No access to a boat so anything from shore.......I have surf gear as well as med weight inshore stuff.....I would like to catch some reds and some spanish.....are there shore bound areas to catch these fish?

Johnson Beach National Seashore offers surf fishing with the long rods,,, soaking sandfleas and live shrimp on double dropper rigs may gets you some pomps, whiting, while fresh cut bait should round up some blues and small sharks,,, may run up on a red in surf but its not the best time for them in the surf.. on the bay side you can wade fish with jigs and spoons for spanish and reds.... also their is some wade fishing at Big Lagoon State Park.... Their are some jetties at the pass right over the state line ,,, you can run up on anthing there..... and the best thing about the Gulf you can always count on feeding the hardhead catfish.,,,hehehe.
