new to gulf

[Mullet Madness]

I am looking to come down to miss. in a couple of weeks and do some fishin with a friend. I used to live in Myrtle Beach and did alot of surf fishing and fished the inlets from the bank so i have some experience with ocean fishing. I guess i am looking for some advice on what to fish for and bait choice. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

I had to leave Myrtle without catching a red:mad: but i still had alot of fun catching all the other fish... I will not be fishing in a boat unless i can fund a charter.. I will mostly be fishing from the beach or any other are that looks good. I am hoping to get into some fish when i get down there but i dont know anything about the area or if the water temp is going to be in my favor. Any suggestions?

mullet, try some gulp shrimp on some smaller jig heads they have been working well for me, look at the gulp 101 thread in the bible and buy some of what they reccomend
