Hi everyone, new to the forum and all the way over here in sunny(!) England, I'll be coming over on vacation at some point soon and will be visiting the gulf cost, hopefully around the Rockport area, now i know you boys mainly target Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder, but what other species are caught off of the shore, any rays? We have things like dogfish here, which are abundant, but not fished for on purpose, do you guys have anything similar?
I don't mind what i catch, just want to get the species count up!
I'll be bringing over a 9ft travel rod, rated for up to 100gram lures/weights, and a 30-50 7ft travel boat for getting out on a head boat, if possible, plus a few bits and pieces!

Welcome aboard!!! Off the beach you can catch Stingrays. During the summer they are plentiful and can get very large.
Take a look on the BreakawayUSA sight. We have guys that fish PINS(Padre Island National Seashore) weekly during the Spring and Summer....
