First bass of the season

Photo Details
Poster: Entropy  (see this users gallery)

in mid february i took my buddy out to lake prince in suffolk so he could fish his kayak in some fresh water outside of norfolk. needless to say i decided to take a putz around the lake and managed to pull this lunker in. 6 and a half pounds, my biggest ever (and out of his yak! ^_^). after a sprint back to the boat ramp and a quick photo she was returned to the water. hopefully more to come!

6 pound 8 ounces huh ? I think your scale is off (BAD)
This is a 6 pound 9 ounce

This is a 6 pound 11 ounce

Judging by your hand placement and relation to your hand and the fishes size thats not even over 5 pounds .

its quite possible, i wasnt the one who weighed the fish nor was it with my scale which im a bit more confident is calibrated correctly.

but im willing to say it was all of 6lbs. i caught one much smaller in length yesterday that went over 3.5 lbs. both were fat fish, but my whole fist could go in this one.

would you happen to have the length on those two lunkers? that way we could possibly compare them for better accuracy...

Dont have the length on those ..
Really dont matter much to me about the size of LMB .. I caught one last Sept that was a qualifier for the state record but let it go ..
If someone has a scale I'll use it if not oh well as the pics are all I need .
This one is 24.75"
and no weight

I estimate it at 9 pounds .

A freiend caught this one that is also close to the state record ..

The one I caught was bigger than that but my memory card got corrupted somehow and all pics lost ...
Its all about for my friend and I mean no disrespect ..
All I do is fish .
Check these pics out ..

sweet jesus! where do you guys fish at again!? lol

as you said, length doesnt mean a whole lot for largemouth, but a 14in fish isnt going to weigh 10lbs. this one measured 22 1/2 inches...

the only way to truely be sure will be to take my buddies scale who measured it and hook it onto mine which im sure is correct. then pull... lol. and compare the readout.

6lb or not, still the biggest bass ive caught in a LONG time.
