if it is the thick foam tape I carefully slice it down in thickness with a razor blade then a little denatured alcohol should take the glue off if not might have to go to a little stronger solvent. When I use double sided tape I put a layer of masking tape down first then put the double sided tape on top of that makes removal a lot easier.
